2003 Kia Sorento

Engine sometimes will not start go back later and it starts and runs fine. Lately though it quits while running down road and will not start. Acts as though timing is very advanced and kicking back on starter. Go back later and car starts and runs fine. So undependable one cannot drive it. Has recently had timing belt replaced along with necessary pulleys and tensioner. Wondering if powertrain module could cause this problem.
