Engine Cooling problem
2004 Kia Optima

My thermometer water pump hoses and timing belt were replaced and the hand still goes into the red when I drive for a while and then Idle. There are no leaks around the hose, they burbed the radiator twice and found no leaks. The coolant level is staying steady. I am expected to go back for visit number 6 in less than two weeks to see if they can diagnose. What are they missing?

Someone told me there is a sensor that goes out when the thermometer is replaced but they keep saying that it does not need to be replaced.

Hi there,

I presume that the cooling fans have been checked, so I would be looking at the radiator, have they cleaned it? A back flush is not good enough, it will have to go to a radiator repair shop and have the cores checked and cleaned, you may have a number of blocked core tubes, I would get this done first.
