Key fob swap

I have a key fob for my old Cadillac 2010 CTS. Can I reprogram it to my car listed above? In other words, how can I remove the program from the old Fob, because the car I have now, says it’s pre-programmed to another car, when I try to do the programming to the old fob.

Never mind, somehow it reprogrammed and works. Don’t even know what I did, lol.

Sorry for the delay. Glad it is working now, however; these are not able to be reprogrammed.

So, what I suspect happened is the battery is draining and you are most likely going to have issues again in the future.

If you do, then we need to try starting by replacing the battery in the key.

However, what I would suggest we do is program a second key just to be sure we can confirm this is the issue because if the other key works, then you know this key is most likely drained. Plus, it will give us a backup key, so you are not strained.
