Hi momo_ayala23,

MANUFACTURER'S SUGGESTED SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE
Normal replacement interval is at 105,000 miles or 84 months.
Replace at 60,000 miles if car is regularly driven in extreme temperatures (over 110 °F, or under -20 °F).

Is it time to change the timing belt on my car Honda accord 2005 4 cylinder manual. What's the difference between a timing belt and a timing chain?

HI there,

Your Honda has a timing chain and there is no service interval for the chain, the difference between a chain and a belt is that the belt is made from a reinforced rubber compound, they have molded drive teeth and are very reliable with in there designated life, the chain is extremal strong and ultra reliable, it is similar to a bike chain, it will often last the life of the engine and there is no servicing requirements apart from checking tensioner and stretch.
