'90 Jeep Wrangler with 195850mi. My fuel guage reads fine when full down to about 3/4 then starts to flip rapidly back and forth. It seems to do this more when I am driving than when it sits still, however, when driving I can actually hear it hitting each side of the guage and it's about to drive me nuts! Can someone please help me? Is it the guage itself or the sending unit or something completely different? Thanks for the time!

You probably have a defective sending unit. At the 3/4 mark on your unit is where the resistor wiring is broken. If you continue to burn the fuel in your tank your gauge would read "empty", but you know it's not. You might have to buy the complete assembly(fuel pump and sending unit) if that is how it is designed/
