I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler, with a six speed manual transmission. I bought it used and it has run fine until now. I was drining home from work, got off the highway, stopped at a stop sign, and then started again, went through first and second gear with no problems, and then when I went to third gear and took my foot off the clutch and tied to accelerate, the rpms went up, but it seemed like I had no power. At firdt I thought I might have missed the gear and shifted into fifth. I am not sure if the clutch is going out or if there is something wrong with the transmission. I drive the vehicle close to 90+ miles a day. Any help on this matter would be appreciated

Ok has it been feeling like this in any other gear? It sounds like what happens when a clutch goes but usually it will do it in all gears not just one or two. Get back to me and we will go from there. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

1st and 2nd seem Ok, when I shifted into those gears, everything felt normal. It seems to be 3rd and maybe 4th.

Thank you

Is the clutch resivoir full of brake fluid? I know this sounds like a dumb question but it is often not checked. You may also have a pressure problem meaning that it is like you have your foot lightly on the clutch. If all is full I would check the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder at the transmission first before going in to a trans shop for the transmission. Let me know how it goes.
