The jeep straight 6 is a very durable and great engine. But they all wear out sooner or later. I dont know how much oil you are blowing? I would run a commpresion check on the engine and see where you are at. Check a manual so you know where it should be. Also all the cylinders should be close to each other say around 15 -20 lbs. Do this first. The idle. Make sure all your vaccum hoses are connected and not leaking. The engine does not have a very high milieage and may just need a general tune up. I dont know what choke you have but it can be adjusted to stay on a little longer and you can adj the idle to where it is a little higher. Interesting tho so please get back to me and let me know.
