When idling for a period of time, I begin to see blue smoke which is blown out upon acceleration. No sign of smoke after a bit, but upon idling again (in traffic, parked and on the phone) it will begin smoking again. The car is using a fair amount of oil, perhaps as much as a quart every two weeks. What's up?

Generally that is a sign of oil by passing the oil seals on top of the valves, allowing oil to be pulled down into the commpression chamber. They are some time reffered to as umbrellae's. They just sit on top of the valve stem guides in the heads under neath the valve springs. That is wuite a bit of oil to be going thru. Has it been serviced regularly? Get back to me, thanks Curt
