1997 Other Jeep Models 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1997 jeep yj sport it makes a clicking noise when turning corners can you tell me if its the axle the u joints wheel bearings? How can I tell or check so I aint emptying my pockets

Most likely it is the front alxe u joints. You can crawl under it and try and move the joints by hane and should notice any play. To check the wheel bearings jack up the front end and try and move the tire by pushing in on the top and pulling on the bottom, there should be llittle movement if any, also you can check the ball joints by having the front tire in the air just an inch or two and put a pry bar under the tire and lift up against the tire pushing against the floor. Have someone watch the upper and lower ball joints for play, there should not be any. Sorry for the late answer and hope this helps. Curt
