Once the jeep is warmed up and left to idle 15 minutes or so it will just turn off. The motor will turn over but it will not restart. Cool the jeep off and it will start again. When driving the jeep, thus far has not occured. I assume because it stays cool enough. Engine does not over heat, gauges all say oik, no warning lights. Just like a switch, it turns off. Replaced the coil. Still have the same results.

Possibly looking at a crank sensor failing when hot. It is located on top of trans bell housing, next time it dies ck. To see if you have any spark.

When the jeep won't start, do you have fuel pressure in the fuel rail, do you have spark? Does your check engine light come on when you turn the key during attempting to crank it? I'm going to follow the thread started by "RetiredAuto" and send you to look at 2 posts - One for symptoms and indications of a failed Crankshaft Position Sensor, the other for same and how to do self-diagnostic code read for your 93 jeep (will work for 91-97 jeep cherokees).I just went thru diagnosing and replacing a CPS, will make you spin around on floor like Curly of 3 Stooges if not enough info availible to answer questions that may come up (Woo, Woo, Woo!).
1. See "Won't Start" dated Fri, 27Jul07, currently on page 3 of this forum.
2. See "Cranks, but No Start", dated Thur, 23Aug07, currently on page 1 of this forum.
Hope this helps, post back what you find/fix to help others!
