I tried to start the Jeep last night and when I turned the key nothing happened, the lights and buzzers worked but the vehicle made no sounds at all, no clicking, no slow start nothing. Made sure it was in Park and tried again, nothing. Let it sit a few hours, came back and it cranked right up! Is it the ignition?

Hi Ed Bonjour and welcome to 2carpros

Lets start by load testing the battery if its good and also cleaned and properly tightened-then comeback.

Ignition system-disconnect a plug wire or 2 ground it to the engine and have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark-If so your ignition is doing its job-If not continue to troubleshoot the ignition system

Try starting it in neutral. Also try moving the shifter back and forth from park to the lowest gear. If it starts after this, it may indicate a dirty or failed neutral safety switch.
