Jeep cherokee 99 6cyl. I decided to replace plugs after it would sometimes die out at idle on cold starts. Ran into a new set of problems, it isnt hitting on all cylinders it seems (jeep is chuging and shaking), new plugs, wires, checked gap on plugs, but problems seem to be ballooning out of control on such an easy task, what could it be that is not allowing it to run smooth?

Sorry for the late reply.

You need to check for applicable trouble codes. To check for codes at the least, you need an obd2 code reader. For example, if you get a p0300 code, that is multiple cylinder misfire. The list of possibilities is about as long as your arm. What about the dist cap and rotor. Did you check proper fuel pressure and injector pulse. The ignition coil or coil circuitry. Egr system--clogged exhaust, I could go on. Also, the cam sensor base has been known to cause problems.

I realize this is an old post. You may no longer own this vehicle. In the future, hope you don't have any vehicle issues, but, if you do, keep the site in mind. They are always working to improve the site and it's free.

Have a good day.
