I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, 146,000 miles, straight 6 4X4. I've replaced the radiator with a new radiator for a 1991-1994 Jeep. The stock radiator had no cap & the entire cooling system relied soley on a plastic Reservoir which jept cracking. After replacing the radiator it was still getting hot so we checked the thermostat & replaced that. We've checked the clutch & electric fan & they're both working. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions? :|

If your jeep is cracking plastic recovery tanks you have an excessive pressure problem, any small bubbles or foam in the plastic bottle? If yes you have a head gasket problem. Go to a radiator shop and have it checked, before you dump a wad of cash.

We've had this problem with every Jeep we've owned that had no cap on the radiator. So with this one we modified the cooling system. And so far I haven't cracked the reservior since installing the modified radiator. It would appear that the new radiator is either defective or there's a clog in it. I have to take it back in to the shop that installed it so they can check it out.

But, I appreciate y  our repsponse.
