I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 106,000 miles on it. It has been in the shop for 7 weeks and they do not know what is wrong. The check engine light is on. When I drive it, the engine will die while coming to a stop or taking off from a start. They scanned the PCM to diagnose codes PO123 TPS voltage high. They replaced TPS sensor and checked output TPS voltage, they say its good for now but signal wire to PCM from TPS has 5.3 volts coming out of PCM with TPS signal removed. Form some reason PCM is putting voltage out on circuit #A23 when it should only be receiving a voltage line from TPS. Can you please help. Our mechanic is stumped as are we. Are we even on the right track to solve this engine problem? Thank you

Double check everything. Most PCMs send out a 5 volt reference to the TPS. The return voltage is how the PCM relates. It should not be higher than the input. Double check your checks and all the associated wiring for shorts to power.

After that time for a PCM from the junkyard.

Good luck and let us know. :)
