Last week my check engine light came on. Now my transmission does not shift right from 1st to 2nd gear. I did a diagnostic and it came back with an error code of p0720. The error points back to a transmission speed control sensor. I purchased a sensor ( MFG# S41015) but cannot locate where it goes on my transmission. All the diagrams that I have looked at do not resemble my transmission what so ever. Did jeep use different types of transmissions? Is there a simple fix to clear the code and get my jeep running right?

thanks,

Allen

Problem solved! I purchased the output speed sensor from a jeep dealership part #4800879, Mopar. The part cost 23.30 plus tax. It took me about 10 minute to install without any special tools. I kept the battery disconnected for about 20 mintes to clear any codes. The check engine light is gone and the jeep shifts like it was brand new. I might go ahead and replace the input sensor to see if gas mileage improves even more. Thanks for the assist and please pass the info on.
