1997 Jeep Cherokee Transmission going bad

You must use the correct specific transmission. This way you pay once, you put it in once, and you go on your way.
Of course you may get lucky and try it another way but get the trans number off the case where the oil pan is attached to the transmission on the left side. Need rag and flashlight, then put a Chrysler remanufactured transmission in it. It will have a guarantee. Make sure you clean and test the transmission cooling system.
