1997 Jeep Cherokee Intermittent engine turning off while dr

I need some advice on repairing my 1997 Jeep[ Cherokee. The engine will intermittently turn off while I am driving. Sometimes it will restart by itself and some times I have to pull off the road and wait for a while before it is able to restart. Any suggestions?

You need to change your crankshaft position sensor. It is located on the top of the bell housing. Make sure you buy an oem part from the dealer, as there have been many problems with aftermarket sensors.
