My 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee goes through a battery every year. At first I thought it was because I was buying cheep batteries, but I switched brands and the same thing happened. I have been through about 5 batteries in 5 years. The charging system seems to be working because as long as the Jeep is driven regularly it will turn over. Otherwise the Jeep runs fine but I would rather not have the inconvenience of dealing with a bad battery.

The best way to tell if its working properly is to hook it up on a VAT machine-might not be putting out the correct output voltages-and also have the electrical system checked for excessive parastic draw-
