1996 Jeep Cherokee WON'T CRANK

The car would start with a boost from another vehicle but it won't stay crank. We tried the battery and the battery is good. Not sure what is draining the power from the batter that won't allow the car to crank on it own and remain started.

Could be your starter. This has happened to me before with my 94 grand cherokee

Before replacing starter. If batt. And alt. Are good begin with starter relay located in main fuse box under hood.
Cost around 10 bucks. Will act like drained battery. If relay bad will draw too many amps from battery.
