Engine Performance problem
1996 Jeep Cherokee Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I start my jeep in the morning (cold weather). It runs fine in idle, then when I am driving to top of the hill and stop at the sign it dies. I start it up and it drives a couple of miles, then dies again when I go into idle. At night when I am coming home from work, it runs fine except for the lights sometimes dim, but vehicle doesn't die. Can you help please?

The light may be getting dim if the idle is too low. As far as the problem, has the check engine light ever come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
