Thermostat and belt tension okay-could be air lock in the system try bleeding it out and see what happens. Any white smoke at the back, coolant in oil-oil in coolant?

I guess first and foremost I would have to ask, Your not using actual water right? I'm assuming you typed water because its quicker than antifreeze?
