1994 Jeep Cherokee replace stater

After replacing starter car stilll want crank but went under car a put a srew inbetween 2 srcrew on starter then car crank but key want crank car or turn it over to crank so what is my problem

Hi there rodwiggins and TY for the donation this is what keeps the site going

Check and test fuse no.10 40amp and fuse no.11 60amp if okay. Test the starter relay or swap it in the power distribution center and also the transmission range switch on transmission. Fuses, relay switch tested good -its coming from the ignition switch or an open wire from the switch to the starter solenoid light green and black wire small terminal

Fuses ok but when put key in igition it want turn the motor or engine over but go under car with the ignition swith on the use screw an touch both screw on starter with screw driver car will crank

You might want to start with transmission range switch and check and test the rest that I've mentioned earlier.
