Interior problem
1988 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently got a 1988 Jeep Cherokee Larado 4X4 and like most old cars its got a great amout of rust. My question is, how do I replace my floor boards? I know I going to ned to buy some sheet metal. But I wanna know whts the best way to shape it and how do I pull out the existing metal? Do I have to pull the body of? Or is the floor attatched to the body? And after replaced whats th best way to save the new floor from getting rusted like the existing one did?
