I bought an 06 Jeep Gr Cherokee Laredo 3.7l v6 and had it in the shop 3+ times for the same thing. It vibrates at 15000RPM and the exhaust sounds likes it is "spitting"? They replaced the Y pipe and some bolts got tightened? BUT the thing sounds just like it did before? I have only had it since Feb 07 and it only has 18000 miles on it. Have you or anyone else had this problem? They are telling me its normal for this engine but that does not make sense. One more thing. It does it only at accelaration.
Do you
have the same problem?

Hmmm. If it were a little older id say check the mounts, but it very well could be the nature of that engine. Domestic engines tend to vibrate more than the imports. Go to a different Jeep dealer and test drive a different SUV and see if it does the same thing, drive 2 or 3 of them for that matter just to be sure. If so, then you can go back with the cofindence that there is something wrong.

At 15000 rpm you'd vibrate too! If the engines that far out of wack. Lemon law it!

Hey guys. Thank you for your responses. It really isnt a vibration its more like a droning humming sound which is pretty loud. I am taking it to another dealer monday see what they say. And again its only on acceleration. Ya think it might be something other then the exhaust?
