Engine problem

s type Jaguar 4ltr v8 Automatic 60000 miles

help. Ignition turns on o.K. But engine will not turn over. Shift in park but all I get is clicking from relays. New battery fitted but still no joy. Recent fire in boot due to faulty charger but no damage other than smoke damage but since then will not turn over. Anybody any ideas?

Please check starter engine and starter engine cable during start.

Please check fuse relays and check "+" to ground resistance at battery (check no short circuit there).

If starter turns the engine, check petrol pump pressure (on right cylinder line there is a valve looks like bicycle wheel air valve, turn off hat and press valve), if no pressure, petrol pump motor is jammed or no electrical connection (it is in the petrol tank under rear-right seat).
