2002 Other Jaguar Models What is this?

The message reads gear box fault. THe gear slips in 2nd or 3rd gear until you ease off the gas. Then it shifts.

What to do?

Hello, the car has either a bad shifter cable causing the car not to be in gear all the way. Should have it checked out and replaced if this is the problem. Ore it has a mechanical failure of the trans. Both could be adressed or checked out at the same time. Probaly a bad shifter cable. Let me know how it turns out. Rep points apreciated if infor helps
