Yes recently my car started bogging down while accelerating. When I was driving to work it would take forever to accelerate up to 50 miles an hour, and will not go over 50 miles an hour no matter how hard I press the gas petal. Also the harder you press the gas petal the louder the noise will get, and seems like engine is working too hard. I just changed the spark plugs and distributor cap, that didnt help. Next plan of attack is fuel pump. But I dont want to spend the money on that if thats not the problem. Any suggestions? Also we did check the catylic converter, and its getting normal backflow from it.

Sounds like your catalytic converter is clogged. 200000 miles? Yep, I'd start there--also check or replace the air filter.
Your engine sounds like it is not getting enough air or it is not expelling enough air. It does not sound like a fuel problem or ignition problem.
