2000 4.0 SOHC v6, starts right up most of the time then at times I need to hold the key in the start position for a few seconds before the truck starts. You can hear the fuel pump kick on and I have tested the fuel pressure which is within specs. And can always here the starter going. I have cleaned MAF sensor and have cleaned my Idle Air Control Valve. Checked the connections on the starter and all are good. New battery.

What else can I check?

If the starter is cranking, my guess is that the fuel pump is losing its prime when the key is shut off and taking a few seconds to build pressure. When you checked it for pressure, was it within the manufacturer's specs? Did you pay attention to pressure drop off?
