Seat not working

Infiniti - G20 - The driver side seat stop working. The level which makes the seat go forward or move backward stop working, it still rises up and down. What should I check the fuses first because I do not want to take it to the dealer and they ripe me off like always. I am a helpless female which knows nothing about cars other than drive and gas it. Thanks

Need to check for power and ground at the motor that controls that movement in the seat. Could be motor, switch, or cable from motor to seat
