The check engine light came on the dashboard panel. The car is running great. HOWEVER, I am not able to get the car inspected because it will not pass the admissions test with the check engine light on (Allegheny County, PA). I had them put it on the diagnostic machine and there telling me this car has 3 converters and 3 oxygen sensors all of which are bad and it's going to cost $3500.00 to repair. Is this possible with such a GREAT running car?
Is there a way to get this car through the admissions test without replacing the 3 converters?

That is bull, you need to go get a second and third opinion if necessary, I dont believe they all can be bad at once, take your vehicle to autozone or your local parts place, autozone will scan it for free, unless you live in cali, then they might charge you a couple of dollars, get the codes and bring them back to me for further diagnosis.

Even if you were to replace all four oxygen sensors labor would only be three hundred dollars at a hundred dollars an hour, im getting about 1000.000 however, but that is because the parts are mostlikely mutiplied by three, the regular price times three, thats where they make their money, now if you go buy the parts which would save you a pretty penny and just pay labor, your looking at whey less than a thousand dollars, and you can do that too. Buy your parts yourself and have the shop put them on, they dont like it but they do it.
