A little bit of fluid in the well chamber, where the coils go. Had some issues awhile back. Was misfiring and I had replaced a few coils. Local mechanic said it could be the valve gasket leaking and shorting them out?

The cover gaskets can leak and the oil will cause the spark to jump. So would water or similar fluids. See if you can get a towel in there to remove the fluid and determine if it is oil or whatever else. If it is oil the cover gaskets and plug well seals should be changed to keep it under control.

If it's oil, spray it out with some carb cleaner before you take anything apart. The gaskets are not really hard to do but there is a lot of wiring and the fuel lines that you need to move out of the way to get to them.

A small amount to go in the areas that the timing cover split is located. The gaskets do not need anything. A few small dots of #2 gasket sealer to hold the gasket in place would be okay.
