Key goes in ignition and turns freely/smoothly almost like a stripped screw

Lights come on and windows work but car won’t turn over. Nothing clicks. And when key is removed all lights stay on and windows work.

Good morning,

It sounds like the lock cylinder is bad and not moving the switch in the correct positions. You need to remove the clam shell or the covers for the column below the steering wheel. That will expose the lock cylinder itself. You put it in the position posted in the picture I posted and depress the pin and remove.

The downside is you need a new key as well. That will require programming for the security system.
