I recently purchased the car listed above sedan that has no remote fobs only two standard keys.

I then learned there is no way to open the trunk with a key as the car has no key lock on the trunk lid. I am forced to unlock my driver's door with a key and then bend down and pull a manual lever to unlock the trunk from the interior floorboard next to the driver's seat.

I have had recent back surgery and cannot do this bending motion.

I found on Amazon. Com two fobs (no flip key) that is compatible with my car. I need telephone help to do the programming.

Unfortunately, we don't offer telephone services, only online assistance. It appears these fobs need to be programmed using a scan tool.

That is why it says on the listing that they have to be programmed by a dealer or locksmith.

It appears Kia does not have the same programming process as others and that is detailed in this guide:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-re-program-a-key-remote-fob

I am attaching the procedure from the manual but as you can see, there is a scan tool needed because you have to register the code for the transmitter using this tool or an equivalent.

As for the operation of these specific FOBs it appears they will work with your vehicle but clearly, we don't sell them so I can't guarantee their operation.

Let me know what questions you have.

Thanks

Sorry James. Just trying to assist you with the info that you would need. However, we don't have the ability to do this for you. We can only empower you with the info that you need to accomplish it and in this case that is to have a scan tool capable of doing the process I attached, or contact someone that can do this (locksmith, dealer).

You will have to locate a locksmith in your area that is capable of doing this for you. I would simply do a Google search in your area for locksmiths and call them to find out if they are capable of programming them for you.

Please let us know how you make out. Thanks

I went to Battery Plus as a reviewed customer said they could do it. Their tech guy said I need to go to Kia as their scan could not locate the FCC ID number.

Hi Again James. I am not sure how I can assist you differently. You keep replying by checking the "not helpful" box, but I am not sure what other info I can provide you with to get this accomplished.

Sorry you found a review for Batteries Plus that they could perform this but as I stated, I would suggest doing an internet search for locksmiths and then just call them and ask if they can do it before you make any other trips out unless you are going to the dealer as we know they can perform this.
