Leaf turns on with error reading I-Key System Fault. Ready to drive indicator light does not come on and the shifter is inactive. Switched out 12v battery which provided another drive before it made a long whuuuurrrrr sound when I stopped and it no longer responded. Electrics in the car seem to work. Just doesn’t flip on drive mode.

This sounds like an electric battery issue, but let's confirm this by starting with checking for codes.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Unfortunately, these vehicles are very dependent on the overall state of charge with the battery that if it is low it will cause various issues like this, so more than likely we will have some codes that will help point us in the right direction.

Let me know what you find with this and we can go from there.

Thanks
