A year and a half ago, while I was driving my truck died on me. Found out I had an electrical short cuz my battery line was stripped in one part and hit the alternator. I've been slowly fixing it, unknowing what the problem is. So far, I've replaced: spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, starter, emc, spark plug wires, ignition coil. A couple days ago I had a friend who owns a code reader and when he plugged it in. It said 0 problems so now I'm at a complete loss. Is it the brain? What do I do?

Did you do any diagnostics before you replaced anything? If problem with wiring circuit to any component, replacing the component won't fix it.
If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If no spark we'll check that system. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, I don't care what you replaced. If you have the spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems. Make sure battery has a full charge.
To check if computer is awake, key on, check for a ref voltage at any sensor that uses a ref voltage. If nothing there, have to check voltage and ground circuits for computer.

Will the code reader communicate with computer? You could try to force the computer to set a code, just to see if it will?
