2002 Hyundai Santa Fe 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 116k miles

I replaced a power steering pump on this 2002 santa Fe approx. 15k miles ago. The same problem seems to be happening again. When I replaced the initial pump the splines designed into the pulley and the pump drive shaft had worn smooth. Why is that and what should I do to fix it?

I can't tell you why it wore out, but the reservior screens can get plugged on these and burn out a pump. Remove the reservior, remove the screen and clean it Caviitation can also do damage to pumps. USing the best fluid helps. Hyundai semi synthetic ATF is best for this truck.
