1997 Hyundai Lantra Two Wheel Drive Manual 108000 miles

i KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS BUT I AM CONCERNED AS I WENT TO PUT IN SOME OIL AND WHEN I TOOK OFF THE CAP IT SEEMS TO BE YELLOWY GUNGY STUFF ON THE TOP. IT DOES NOT LOOK RIGHT. WHAT IS IT AND WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

Make sure the oil in the pan doesn't look the same. Also, what you are seeing sounds like there is misture getting into the engine. Most times this is caused by a bad PCV valve. Keep the oil changed on a regular basis and replace the PCV valve to see if that helps.
