The air conditioning and heating in my car work fine while the vehicle is in motion, but when I have to stop, such as at a traffic light, they do not work. The heat will blow cold air, and the air conditioning will blow warm air.

The heat will blow cold air, check and test the thermostat and also check if the heater core is clogged-up

and the air conditioning will blow warm air-check the air blend door could be stuck in the heat position-Overall for both problems could be coming from the HVAC unit
