My 1999 elantra will run for awhile then it it stop. After it stops running I checked for spark and it is not getting any. After it sits for awhile it will start back up and run for a while then it will stop again. Will a fuel pump make it stop firing or what do u think it is?

Hi, First I'd Check The Computer For codes. If No codes, I'd Check The Fuel Pressure. If All the Above Is ok, Then Look At The Ignition System, Crank Sensor, If It Has One, Or Coil, And Pick up Coil, If It Has One. There Are a few Things That Can Cause this. As You Can see. Parts Can Be Costly. I Would not Replace Any parts Till I knew What Was Bad. It Needs to Be checked out By Your Mechanic.

Hope This Helps You,
Good Luck

I have already replaced coil pack; it is still doing it. Think it is a camshaft sensor, how do you check to see if it is bad?

Hope This Helps You,
