07 Jeep Liberty Sport. In the process of replacing fuel pump. Hose 6 in the diagram broke of at the attachment to part 4 in this diagram. I understand that its the flow management valve, but google and other forums arent giving me any info on replacing it, and I cant find anywhere that even sells a replacement. Searching mostly gives info on air intake for the engine, I think the naming of it is confusing google. How important is it for that hose to be attached? Could it still function as a fresh air intake or would it be dangerous to leave it like this? Would gluing it back on and taping around it to secure it be good enough? Second picture is where it broke.

That isn't a replaceable part, it is plastic welded into the tank and comes as part of the tank. Pretty much just an air vent with a separator inside it. You don't want it open through because dirt and moisture can get in. However, it is likely that you can repair it, First get a short piece of tubing that will fit into the hose you have to connect to it. Then you drill out the piece on the tank so the tubing just barely fits into the hole, then take a coarse file and rough the tubing up on one end. Next mix some epoxy like JB Weld and coat the rough end of the tubing and push it into the drilled hole, Let it cure, attach the hose and you should be good to go. I have done this on other plastic parts that are not available with great success.
