Good afternoon, I bought this diagnosis tool for my car but I have little knowledge as to how it operates. Can you kindly give a guide as to how it works. Thank you for a speedy response. Please see images of the type of tool below. Thank you.

Hello,

This looks like an OBD2 scan tool. Is there any way you can upload a picture of the connector end for us?

Thanks,
Alex

Hello again,

If it is a scan tool, the connector should plug into your vehicle's Data Link Connector(DLC). It will be OBD2 compliant and be able to read OBD2 Direct Trouble Codes(DTC)(s). Some can access the vehicle Parameter IDs(PID)(s), view freeze frame data, and erase DTC(s). The connector for the DLC is a 16 pin connector, and should, by law, be easily accessable to you setting in the drivers seat, usually under the dash. I have included a DLC diagram and callout in the diagrams down below.

Thanks,
Alex
