1992 Honda Prelude Car wont start sometimes

My car will start sometimes first go, like early morning or late at night, but it seems to not start either when the car is hot or when its a really hot day. I can drive it a short distance and turn it off to go into a shop and then when I try to go back home it refuses to start. It will sometimes fire but then die, and then an engine check light will come on and if I try to start it again it will just tick over but not fire.
I have tested the ignition and spark with my dad and there is spark. We dont know what to do.
