Engine cranks but will not start. After repeated attempts car finally starts. Replaced starter, plugs & wires, distributor cap and rotor and charged battery. This caused some improvement in starting performance but still need repeated long cranks before engine starts.

Check fuel pressure on start up, if EFI check for injection pulse and get the coolant temp sensor checked as it may be giving a wrong signal for cold start up.

One of the most common causes of non starting or erratic starting patterns is a faulty PGFM-FI main relay for the year model. Remove the relay and resoldering the circuit board joints should solve the problem if that is the cause.
