My son just bought a 1985 Honda Prelude it doesn't warm up on a cold morning. The radiator is full. The engine temperature doesn't go up very much even after driving for awhile. I suspect it is the thermostat. What do you think?

Hi BPuida,

Yes, most probably the thermostat has been removed or is stuck in the open position.

When engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and start the engine. Note the coolant inside the radiator neck. If the coolant moves continously, the above is true. If the thermostat is good, the coolant should be stagnant for a few minutes before it starts moving.
