On my Honda Civic LX I have and symbol on my dash that is the shape of a horseshoe and has a quotation mark in the center of it. I also have a message beside the symbol that reads TPMS

It's your tire pressure monitoring system. It registers when there is a low tire pressure on one or more tires. In extreme cold, it is not unusual to have the light register low air pressure but not show low air pressure when tire is warm after sitting in garage

Yes thats correct. Its for the tire pressure. Most vehicle today got that. Helps driver to prevent blown tires.
