Engine Mechanical problem
2003 Honda Civic 4 cyl Automatic 110000 miles

When I turn my car after a couple minutes the engine block starts to shake and feels like the car is going to stall out, also when ever I turn my heat on this also happens. Does anyone have an idea why?

Ps someone told me it could be bc my timing belt/water pump needs to be changed I am saving up money to do that, if any one knows a solution for maybe another month. That would be great

thanks in advance

Hi churchill1,

The description of the problem is rather vague so I am not sure if I understand it correctly. However I do not believe it is anything to do with the timing belt or water pump.

What you are experiencing shuld be erratic idling and it most probably is due to a dirty throttle body and idle air control valve. When air passages are partially clogged, the idle system would not work correctly.

Get the throttle body and IAC cleaned and see if the problem goes away. Check the spark plug conditions as well.
