Why is it that my car door unlocks perfectly at times and at other times it doesn't? I take the key out and turn it the other way and have had success at times. Would WD-40 help? Should I spray it on the key?

Hi elaine schwenker,

It is possible the key tumblers are worn and when this occurs, it would require some wiggling to get the key to turn. WD-40 might help but it is only a temporary measure.

The problem is only going to get worse and the oly way is to get the lock repaired or replaced.
