This sounds like a slippage problem, I would not be driving the carr very far as you may be doing more damage to nit, I would get t inspected by a transmission specialist as they will have all the special tooling required to do a full diagnosis on this, you may get some insight if you do a scan and see if there are any transmission unresolved fault codes, I would start here.
