2001 Honda Civic Engine idle does not hold steady.

Hey,

This problem started with the coming of Winter. After starting the car the engine will rev up and down between 1000 and 1500 RPM's at 2-3 second intervals. This problem is less pronounced after 10 minutes or so. Probably due to the car warming up.

My typical experience has been an idle at a specific RPM until warmed up not this revving up and down.

Have the idle speed control motor checked and might want to clean out the throttle body/plate
