2000 Honda Civic Stiff Gearbox

The gear stick is very hard to move from P to R, but moves well from R to D4/D3/D2. I am wondering if it simply needs some lube or if I'm looking at an entire different problem. The car drives well and has no shifting problems during the drive.

Very common problem.

Have somebody lubricate the shifter linkage pivots and cable where it meets to the transmission. You will have to remove a few bolts and a cover to access the pivot point.
